“Minnesota DNR Day” at Twins game 

Anyone with a 2022 Minnesota fishing or hunting license can purchase a reserved game ticket online and receive a special Twins camouflage cap at the game.

Safe boating reminders.

  • Everyone on the boat should wear their life jacket.  Use of safety equipment: 

o Engine cut-off devices

o Inflatable life jackets

o Personal locator beacons

  • Own Your Wake.  Be aware of the wake your boat creates and the impact it has on shoreline erosion as well as the hazards large wakes create for swimmers, paddlers, and other boats. 
  • Have the boat’s exhaust system inspected for damage or loose lines. Know the signs of carbon monoxide poisoning:

o Dull headache

o Weakness

o Dizziness

o Nausea or vomiting

o Confusion

o Blurred vision

  • Distracted boating is a rising safety issue.  Distracted boating can lead to accidents and fatalities. 
  • Boating under the influence applies to drugs, as well as alcohol. Alcohol can impair a boater’s judgment, balance, vision and reaction time.

Pipestone )   City of Pipestone sprays for mosquitos every THURSDAY …. approximately – 8 pm as needed throughout the summer / weather permitting.  When spray truck enters your neighborhood – pets and residents should remain indoors with their windows closed.

Minnesota )  Minnesota DNR offers free admission to all 75 Minnesota State Parks and Recreation Areas on Saturday, Nov. 26th.  FREE PARK DAY is one of 4 days offered each year to encourage new visitors to enjoy the outdoor beauty of great places in Minnesota.  The DNR waives entrance fees for the day .. waiver does not cover activities like: camping, rentals, or tours. 

Adopt a Highway Volunteers helped to keep Minnesota roadsides clean and free of litter in 2021 by picking up more than 29,500 bags of trash from highway ditches.   Groups who want to volunteer for a section of road of their own to care for – visit the Minnesota DOT’s Adopt a Highway website to contact their local program coordinator.  Commitments are at least 2 years .. average roadway length is 2 miles.   The MN DOT provides safety training,  trash bags,  and safety vests.   Maintenance crews pick up the filled bags at least twice a year.

Sioux Falls )  South Dakota Rock & Roll Music Association ..
